Amber Norton

Hi, my name is Amber Norton! I am 24 years old and live in McCook, Nebraska. I have been participating in Nebraska Miss Amazing since I was 15 years old. My favorite part of the state event is singing a song for the passion presentation and spending time with my friends.

This past fall, I was involved in organizing a Winter Wonderland Dance in Southwest Nebraska to spread the word about Miss Amazing. I attend Hands of Heartland, where we do different inclusive activities in the community and volunteer our time at the local food pantry, Head Start Preschool, and deliver Meals on Wheels. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, getting my nails done, going to the movies, bowling, watching videos and anime, and spending time with my family.

In July, my life changed a bit when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Some of my favorite activities like the Special Olympics and working at the local daycare were put on hold, while battling cancer. I had a mastectomy in November and have been given multiple chemotherapy treatments. Thursday, February 13th is my last chemo treatment, and I get to RING THE BELL! YAY!!!

I am so excited for this new year and to go to Chicago and meet new friends!
